  • POUCH Happening | Hug-A-Vet

    Veteran's Day

Like many storage facilities, here at Pouch Pasadena we have a few homeless people who are customers. We are very fortunate to have a tenant that heads a non-profit organization that helps feed the less fortunate, on major holidays. And this Veterans Day 11/11/14 they provided a clinic for vets to have a one-on-one meeting with a psychiatrist, free of charge. Hug-A-Vet!

  • How to Maximize the Space in Your Home

Is your home starting to feel cluttered, cramped, or just disorganized? Regardless of how large your home or office is, it’s easy for your belongings to start taking over more of your space. Clothing, furnishings, accessories, office equipment and more can begin to occupy space that was once open, which can make your house feel less welcoming to you and your guests. In order to maximize the space in your home , it may be a good idea to rent a self-storage unit where you can keep things that you won’t need for a few months at a time. Read on to learn about more ways to maximize the space in your home.

    In the Kitchen
Your kitchen is the center of activity in your home, so it’s important for it to be spacious and well organized. Use the room’s vertical space to maximize storage areas—for example; you can consider hanging pots and pans above the stove or island instead of stacking them in cabinets, drawers or inside your oven. This will give you more space under your countertops, and help keep clutter from piling up. Consider going through your cabinets to toss or donate old dry goods or canned food you don’t need, also think about installing drawer organizers to keep your kitchen gadgets sorted.

    In the Bedroom
No matter what size closets you have, your bedroom may tend to get messy before other areas in your home. Instead of shoving out-of-season clothing under the bed or towards the back of the closet, box them up and put them in your self-storage unit where they’ll be out of the way until you need them again. You may also want to minimize the amount of furniture in your bedroom so that you can have an open, spacious place to get ready in the morning, and or wind down at the end of the day. Keep just the essentials in your bedroom, and move the extraneous furniture to your storage unit.

Your storage unit at POUCH Self Storage in Orange, San Bernardino and Los Angeles County will safely hold the belongings you want to keep but don’t need in your home. • POUCH Happening | The Storage Game

We signed up a new tenant last night here at Pouch Self Storage – Anaheim. She did not have a lot to store, mostly storage bins. She was certain a 3×3 would be perfect. When she started to place the bins in her unit, she experienced some difficulty getting them all in. My colleague eagerly offered his assistance and assured her that he would get them all in. About 15 minutes later, they both came back into the office smiling, mission accomplished! She thanked the specialist and asked how he did it. He smiled and said, ” From our training, experience and…I play Tetris. ”

  • POUCH Happening | Grace Period

When I checked our messages after Thanksgiving Day, there were multiple messages from one tenant. So I immediately called him back and told him that we were closed for the Thanksgivings Day Holiday and asked what I can do for him. He said he knew were closed but was so worried that he was late on his payment and would like us to call him the next day. I told him that we have a 10-day grace period so his late fee yet did not hit yet. When he heard this, he was so happy and said he had an extended Thanksgiving Day. He was just thankful that we offer all our tenants this kind of courtesy.

  • POUCH Happening | Move You Free

It was his lucky day! Our Free Move-In Service is very popular. We usually get reservations for our truck many days or even weeks in advance, and the times fill quickly. Today, there just happened to be an available time slot. He was overjoyed! We completed his contract and off we went to get his belongings. We returned and he unloaded everything into his unit and came in the office to drop off his key. He sasked with some amazement, “What are the odds that your Free Truck was available right at the very same time I needed it?” I smiled and replied, ” Apparently, very good!”

  • POUCH Happening | Rain Prediction

A tenant came in and said he’s 100% sure it won’t rain even if the weather that was forecasted said there’s a 20% chance it will rain. I asked him why he is very sure it won’t rain. He said look outside. The rainbow and it also blends with your Pouch color. I guess he was right. It did not rain that day.

  • POUCH Happening | Business Storage

Self storage is not only good for people who are in the process of moving but a lot of new and upcoming business owners also need storage space. For example a potential customer came in looking for storage for his new and upcoming ice cream business. He wants to open locally in San Juan Capistrano and wanted to start purchasing supplies and machines before he gets a shop location.  We  hope to see him after this is all in the works.
