Nothing is Safer Than the “Pouch” of a Kangaroo!
A few months ago we had a long time customer moved his belongs out to save money. He was going to put it in a container in a “friend’s” backyard so that he could have it shipped back home to Venezuela. Well, he realized that the container was not safe & secure, as he was moving his stuff back into Tustin SS where it was save & secure to begin with. At the time of unloading his truck, he realized that the dogs and the rain got to it first, lots of boxes had new clothes which he had to use our “Planet Aid” box and the couches where full of dog hairs and at this point he went back into his storage to get his vacuum out and vacuum his couches. Well, when it was all done he came back into the office and said: “It’s back where I know it’s safe and sound.”
So as the saying goes “NOTHING IS SAFER THAN THE “POUCH” OF A KANGAROO”

What Are Some of the Strangest Items Found in Storage Spaces?
Self-storage spaces are convenient, easy to use, and provide a great way to store your extra items. Behind the doors of a self-storage unit, you might find furniture, treasured valuables, and a variety of other items ranging from the everyday to the extraordinary. Have you ever wondered about some of the strangest items that have been found in storage spaces? Let’s take a look:
Aretha Franklin’s Clothing
Oftentimes, the clothes and items that are worn and treasured by celebrities will be put into storage for safekeeping. For example, when a storage unit in Michigan was opened, it was discovered to contain items from Aretha Franklin’s amazing wardrobe .Space Technology
Due to the secure and climate-controlled environment of storage units, they sometimes contain amazing pieces of technology. In a storage unit near Cape Canaveral in Florida, bidders at an auction found a NASA rocket and countdown clock. This amazing space equipment had been stored after the NASA program they were used for was discontinued.Forgotten Treasure
When you purchase a self-storage unit from auction, you can unearth a long forgotten fortune. That’s what happened to a man in San Jose, California who purchased a storage unit for $1,100. When he opened up the unit, he found half a million dollars that had been anonymously left behind.A Burglar
In Missouri, police investigating an attempted robbery found the thief trapped inside a storage unit. Apparently, as he fled the scene, he sought refuge in an open storage unit. A security guard noticed that the door was ajar, and latched it shut. After calling the police, the burglar was removed from the storage container. This is just a taste of some of the outlandish items that have been found behind the secure doors of storage units around the world. Preparing Your Vehicle for Long-Term Storage
Whether you have a convertible that you only drive during the summer months or you will be travelling for a long period of time without your car, sometimes you will need to store your vehicle. Large Self Storage units can easily contain your vehicle, and will provide a secure and clean environment while you are away. Before you place your car in long-term storage, there are several steps you should take to make sure your car will be in great working order when you return. Here are some ways to prepare your vehicle for storage:
Thoroughly Clean
Before you place your car in long-term storage, clean your vehicle from the inside out . Wash and wax the exterior of the car to get the paint spotless and free of debris. Detail the interior, making sure that every surface is clean and in great condition. Cleaning your car before placing it in storage will keep it in good condition for when you return.Perform Key Maintenance
If your car will be stored for a month or longer, there are several key maintenance procedures that should be attended to. First, have the oil changed. Letting your vehicle sit with used oil can contaminate and damage the engine. Next, top off the gas in your tank so that the tank and seals will not dry out while the car is not being used.Charge the Battery
As your vehicle sits in storage, the battery will slowly drain its power. Before you place your vehicle in storage, make sure that the battery is fully charged. If possible, have someone start the engine and drive the car every two weeks or so. This will ensure that the car battery still has a charge when you are ready to take the vehicle out of storage. At Pouch Self Storage , we have storage units and RV stalls that come in a variety of sizes to accommodate your vehicle for long-term storage. Call us at (888) 258-9626 to learn more about other self-storage services we provide to residents throughout Southern California.
